Additional benefits may be payable in the event of accidental injury. Also, certain health care expenses are not covered.

Long-term disability benefits (Great-West Life)

Benefit equal to 70% of your monthly earnings, to a maximum of $7,000 per month.

Long-term disability benefits may be reduced or not payable in certain cases.

In addition to your coverage under the City of Charlottetown plan, you can also benefit from an early intervention program for ill or injured employees, offered by a professional in Employee Health Services.

Travel benefits (Great-West Life)

Coverage of up to $1 million per emergency above what your provincial plan pays.

When you reach age 65 as an active employee, your life and accident insurance will be reduced to 50% of your coverage prior to attaining age 65.

When you reach age 70 as an active employee, your life insurance will be reduced to $2,000 and your accident insurance will terminate.
